Sooooooooooo............ you may have heard of a little move called 'Contagion' in recent years? yes? maybe?
Did you know that Jude Law's character was meant to have an Australian accent? no? well neither did I. I thought it was London via South Africa or something.
He is my recast.
I would recast someone who can actually do an Australian accent, you know like an Australian actor or someone who actually spent time with an accent coach. Dev Patel was solid in Lion (2016), Andrew Lincoln was good in Penguin Bloom (2020), Liev Schreiber was so good in Mental (2013), or if you really want a big international star then you can't go past Kate Winslet who was spectacular in The Dressmaker (2015) (and she's been doing Australian accents for years).
Who cares that she was already in Contagion!
She could have done duel roles. Give her a brown wig and she could have played Alan Krumwiede. I would have even believed the surprise pregnancy scene because she is just that good! Hell, she could have played all the roles and done amazing.
