Snowflake Challenge promotional banner featuring an image of a coffee cup and saucer on a sheet with a blanket and baby’s breath and a layer of snowflakes. Text: Snowflake Challenge January 1-31.
Challenge 15: In your own space, create your own challenge.

I started writing last year because I had the opportunity and I had an idea, I didn't really interact much.

This year I want to change that. I already am!

Because others doing this Snowflake Challenge have been generous with their knowledge I now know about more challenges to do!

I've signed up to one, I'm preparing for another, and I have completed the Snowflake Challenge! I hope to do at least 5 more challenges this year!

I challenge you to recommend any 'any fandom' challenges you know! and do one yourself!

Here are some challenge recs:
*[community profile] seasonsofdrabbles - every season they have a multifandom drabble exchange, the winter one is closed, but a spring one should be coming in a few months
*[community profile] wipbigbang - where you dust an old unfinished long fic and commit to completing it, as a bonus you get art
*Fluffuary - fluffy writing prompts for everyday of February

It's so cool that you took last year's Snowflake and have turned it into an ongoing thing! I will of course rec [community profile] sunshine_challenge in July. I hope you find a bunch of new spaces to explore and enjoy this year!

Try this ...

[community profile] allbingo hosts a fest each month. Some are generic, like the current Story Sparks or next month's Valentines. Others are based on a specific fandom, like the NCIS bingo from last year, but players can use the prompts any way they wish. For fandoms I'm not familiar with, I really like taking a quote or phrase from them and applying it to one of my own.

I already have a goal of participating in at least 6 bingo fests this year. And I've already got a line bingo in Story Sparks.

>> allbingo is definitely on my wishlist! <<

Then definitely watch for the Valentines fest in February. It has anti-Valentines and platonic prompt sets if you're not into the sex/romance stuff. There's an asexual/demisexual list on the Bingo Card Generator too.

>> wow, 6 Bingo fests and you already have a line bingo? you are so productive! <<

I often get a lot of fills during the Poetry Fishbowl, so that helps. Usually I play the fest every month, but I don't always bingo.

Thanks for the tip. I have made a note to mention Arospec Awareness Week. And yes, the theme matches!

I definitely +1 [community profile] seasonsofdrabbles! It's so much fun to do! While sign-ups are closed, you can write a few treats now before the work reveals deadline if you want to get your drabble writing going. Otherwise, hopefully you'll join us for the next round in a few months' time!

Apologies for throwing a few communities at you, but these are some that I follow that may be of interest to you!

There's [community profile] hc_bingo for your hurt/comfort needs, [community profile] ladiesbingo for writing about ladies, and [community profile] creativechallenges which is a general community challenge where you can select your own prompts under whichever theme you like.

If you like kink, I'd also recommend [community profile] seasonofkink and [community profile] femslash_kink.

I'd also recommend following [community profile] flashexchanges—I recently followed this (like yesterday!) and it seems like it's a community hub for signal boosting and advertising flash exchanges hosted on AO3. You might find something you like!

And perhaps you would like 3 Sentence Ficathon? We're onto our second post, the opportunity to post prompts closes on 13 February, but you can continue filling prompts in the first and second posts after that time!

omg another Aussie?? I FEEL YOUR PAIN LMAO. I was writing winter and snow for a Christmas exchange while it was pouring down and being somewhat humid. 😂 It really is a mind whammy sometimes.

Also I saw someone mention this community to someone else that I hopelessly forgot to include—[community profile] fandomweekly is a weekly writing challenge where you write 1k or less and vote on the best stories of that week. It's a fun community with a theme challenge and a mini-challenge.

And there's also [community profile] fan_flashworks which is a fortnightly challenge as well. It doesn't have a voting system, but a lot of people participate and use the one-word prompt to create icons, fic, poetry, etc.

I think I've remembered everything now! 😂 So sorry, let's blame the heat for my brain melting!

I had a lot of fun with [community profile] intoabar

Last year was the first time I tried it and it was a lot of fun, even if I was a bit confused about how it would work.

A good challenge!

[personal profile] fairytaleinspired, a multi fandom fic and art inspired by fairy tales, fables, legends and myths that I liked last year.
[community profile] crackthewip- a challenge comm to finish your WIPs
[community profile] pine4pine, an exchange based on pining.
[community profile] seasonsofdrabbles is currently finishing up their Winter Round but they'll have another one in the Spring.

Oh, you can ask for requited or unrequited! So if you want, you can try something new but also happy endings/mutual feelings are definitely in high demand. :D
